Generals Drop Points In Final Home Match Of Season
Monmouth Generals FC closed out their home portion of the schedule with a 4-3 loss to Holmdel FC on Saturday afternoon.
The Generals got on the board first, with a goal from Evan Walters. In the 21' Holmdel FC scored the equalizing goal.
In the 34' Ismael Romero was at the right place at the right time, in the box to put the Generals in the lead (Generals 2- Holmdel 1).
Before the half time whistle, Holmdel FC tied the game up once again.
The referee blew the whistle for the second half. The match is tied, at 2-2. In the 51' Holmdel FC take the lead. Four minutes later, Mohamed Kotby, of Monmouth Generals puts the ball past the keeper, to tie the game ( Generals 3 - HAFC 3).
Thirty four minutes later, Holmdel FC come down the field on the counter attack, Generals goalkeeper Nick Forlano runs off of his line to stop the threat, but the attacker passes the ball across the box and his teammate taps into the back of the net, to put the away side in the lead.
The referee gives about 2 minutes of stoppage time, he eventually blows the final whistle. The Generals lose the final home match of the season by a score of 4-3.
