Interview With Monmouth Generals FC Owner John Frusciante

Today, monmouthgeneralsfc.com, sat down with Generals Owner John Frusciante to discuss the Generals preseason plans, and the Generals inaugural season this summer in the Garden State Soccer League Summer League. Below is the Q&A.

MonmouthGeneralsFC.com: Can you discuss what the process has been like since the Generals soft launch in December?

John Frusciante: We had our soft launch back in December 2017, so we as a club can share what we have worked on for the past couple of months. Since the soft launch we have had a lot of attraction from potential players, to members of the community wishing us the best of luck ahead of our inaugural season this summer. It has been great so far.

MonmouthGeneralsFC.com: You touch on potential players, contacting the club during the period of the soft launch. Can you share any information, on player tryouts, or when we should expect players to be signed?

John Frusciante: Players that are interested in trying out for the Generals ahead of our inaugural season this summer should go to the tryouts page, on our official website monmouthgeneralsfc.com. Once you fill out the form, you will be provided with updates ahead of the tryout date.

MonmouthGeneralsFC.com: When should we expect players officially signing with the club?

John Frusciante: After the tryout, we will start contacting players and once they are officially signed with the club they will be officially announced. I don't want to say an exact date, but we want to start announcing our roster in mid April.

MonmouthGeneralsFC.com: Monmouth Generals FC recently announced Umberto's Restaurant And Pizza as the official Pizzeria Partner of Monmouth Generals FC. Can you please talk about that partnership and what it means for the 2018 Garden State Soccer League Summer League Season?

John Frusciante: I can't really share the details of the partnership, but what I can share is that Umberto's is a great place to go before or after a Monmouth Generals FC match. Umberto's will be the front of jersey partner for the 2018 Garden State Soccer League Summer League Season. They will have a special offer for Generals supporters on match days and the club will host events their as well.

As a new club it's great to partner with a local business who loves soccer. They are from Naples, my family is from Naples. It's great to partner with likeminded people, so we can grow the game in Monmouth County.

MonmouthGeneralsFC.com: Last question. What are the preseason plans for Monmouth Generals FC?

John Frusciante: Monmouth Generals FC preseason will start in May. We will practice, locally in Monmouth County, during the week and we hope to schedule preseason matches against other teams in New Jersey. This is a great time for lower division soccer, not just in Monmouth County but in the entire state of New Jersey. The Garden State Soccer League is growing every single year, national leagues such as the National Premier Soccer League and the United Premier Soccer League are expanding in the beautiful state of New Jeresy. 2018 will be a great year for soccer in the Garden State, and I hope we can play some of those teams in preseason.

MonmouthGeneralsFC.com: Thanks for your time John. Do you have anything you would like to add?

John Frusciante: I would just like to say Monmouth County will have two soccer teams, Monmouth Generals FC and FC Monmouth of the NPSL competing in their inaugural season this summer. This is great for the county and for soccer fans locally.

Monmouth Generals FC is a club for everyone. If your a die hard soccer fan, to a new fan of the sport. Admission to all Generals FC home matches will be free of charge. Bring your friend, partner or family to Monmouth Generals FC games and support Monmouth Counties Premier Soccer Club.

I would like to thank Generals Owner John Frusciante for his time. We are sure to have a great summer in Monmouth County from enjoying the beautiful beaches to attending Generals matches.
